Emancipator Ensemble at The Catalyst Club

What does an electronic music producer from Portland and a trained classical violinist have in common? This unlikely duo has been tearing up festivals and venues all over the world this past year, using their unique combination of musical styles to create an insane live show and a name for themselves in the process, with Blockhead and Manatee Commune. 9 p.m. Tickets: $18/$22.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 19

Mountain Tamer at The Crepe Place

“Coming straight out of the dampest, darkest, most awkward corner of Santa Cruz,” self-proclaimed weirdos and sultans of psychedelic rock, Mountain Tamer, will be doing their thing, spreading the interstellar love, this Thursday night, along with openers, garage rock band from Los Angeles, Mars and the Massacre. Last time we checked in with these guys they had recently relocated to Santa Cruz. Come down to The Crepe and experience the fruits of their labor live and in person. 9 p.m. Tickets: $8 at the door.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20

Mammatus record release show at The Blue Lagoon

Local band Mammatus returns to the venue where they played their first show to celebrate the release of their 4th and latest LP Sparkling Waters. The spacey and psychedelic rockers are sure to be in top form with an album’s worth of new material. With support from local head bangers Highness and Oakland’s synth-heavy Whisper it has the makings for a classic night of quality local and Bay Area music.9 p.m. Tickets: $5 at the door.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22

Ozomatli at The Catalyst Club

While they may have a few more grey hairs and kids in tow on this tour, the ultimate jam band still brings the same vim and vigor that made them the legends of L.A’s music scene and a symbol of hope and change for the city’s Latin American communities back in the 90s. Since then Ozomatli have continued touring and recording constantly, releasing 10 more albums and EPs while crafting one of the best live shows and most dedicated fan base in the industry. Their newest project has them re imagining Spanish classic songs in their own unique hard rock/reggae style. Bring your dancing shoes. 21+. 8 p.m. Tickets: $23
