Granted this show happens EVERY Tuesday, but considering it is one of the most fun musical nights you can have in Santa Cruz we figured it was time for a debut on the weekly list. Dubbed “Funk Night” by its dedicated weekly crowd, this $5 dollar event is a staple for those in the musical know. Somewhere between BeeGees-era disco and ambient instrumentals a la Explosions in the Sky or Boards of Canada, sits BoomBox. The Group is comprised of versatile producers, DJs, songwriters, and multi-instrumentalists Russ Randolph and Zion Rock Godchaux, who are touring in support of their recently released “Bits and Pieces” EP.
