Santa Cruz Hillel’s Fundraising Dinner
Santa Cruz Hillel is holding it’s 13th annual, and biggest fundraising event of the year. This very special dinner is on Sunday, May 6th at 5pm, once again at Hotel Paradox. A Taste of Spring is our signature event and it is very special--an evening of great, food, wine and community. This year we will be having a very special guest speaker;
Eric D. Fingerhut has been the President and CEO of Hillel International since August 2013. He came to Hillel after a varied, distinguished career in public service and higher education. He served as Chancellor of the Ohio Board of Regents, leading Ohio’s system of public universities and community colleges, as a U.S. Representative from Ohio, as an Ohio state senator, and was the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate in 2004. Eric received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University, and a juris doctorate from Stanford Law School. Since joining Hillel, Eric has twice been named one of the fifty most influential Jewish leaders in the world by The Jerusalem Post. Eric lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife Amy, sons Sam and Charlie, and beagles Pedro and Lulu.
The evening will start with a wine and appetizer hour with opportunities to schmooze with old & new faces. Following that is a tempting 3-course sit-down meal (fish, chicken, or vegetarian entrée). Special dietary needs such as gluten-free or vegan entrees can also be requested.
There will also be both silent and live auctions. Local auctioneer, Robert Slawinski will be adding his usual vibrancy to the auction. Some live auction highlights include great vacation condos and homes including New York City; tickets to a concert & VIP tour of the Lick Observatory; ; a unique item from the SC Boardwalk. Included among the silent auction items—art, beautiful jewelry, wine-tasting, Judaica, tours, sports & cultural events, and much, much more.
The cost of this event is $135 per person. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and all proceeds from this event go to support general programming for the students at Santa Cruz Hillel. Please join us! For more information, contact Santa Cruz Hillel at 831-426-3332 or [email protected]. If you wish to purchase tickets online, visit: http://www.santacruzhillel.org/tasteofspring.html
