Astronomy on Tap

Astronomy on Tap is coming to Santa Cruz! Astronomy on Tap is a monthly gathering of space enthusiasts, professional astronomers, and anyone with a general curiosity about things other-wordly...all over delicious beer!

Our inaugural Astronomy on Tap meetup will be Thursday, February 1st at 6:30PM at the New Bohemia Brewing Co, in Santa Cruz, CA. The theme for our kick-off will be “Planets, Inside and Out,” and we’ll hear from Jonathan Fortney, Director of UCSC’s Other Worlds Laboratory,as well as graduate student researchers Diana Powell and Chris Mankovich on their latest research into the atmospheres of giant planets in our solar-system and beyond. We'll have happy hour drink prices all night long as well as games, quizzes, and swag! Our events are geared toward the general public, so please bring your curiosity, questions, and love for space. Astronomy on Tap is free of charge and open to anyone 21+.
