About Becky: My name is Becky Dickson, and I am living with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer (MBC). Stage 4/metastatic is when the cancer has spread beyond the breast/local lymph nodes. You may know my husband, Evan Dickson, who teaches at New Brighton Middle School.
In 2010, at 25 years old, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. After I completed a year of chemotherapy, biotherapy, surgeries, radiation, and hormonal treatments, I went into remission for 2.5 years. In Aug 2014, at 29, my breast cancer returned and metastasized, spreading to my bones and distant lymph nodes. This past November, at 31, my breast cancer returned again, this time to my brain. I had an emergency craniotomy/brain tumor removal, followed by high dose brain radiation. I am now recovering. To learn more about my battle with MBC, please visit my blog at:

Metastatic breast cancer (MBC) research is severely underfunded. METAvivor is a volunteer-led non-profit that funds vital MBC treatment research, thus helping to improve the longevity and quality of life of MBC patients. You can learn more about METAvivor at www.metavivor.org.
