About First Friday: The Art of Bill Flynn - Acrylic on Canvas

FREE

As an observer of life in all its aspects, my art is influenced by my passion for the human form. My work is about celebrating the spirituality and emotion of the physical figure. Sensual lines, flowing and connecting through the shadowing edges of light and dark, reach out to connect with the viewer. While the nude body is a sensual, beautiful and expressive entity, my process gives importance to the edge and the complexity of lights and shadows.

I have been an artist all my life. Channeled towards getting a "real" job I spent years in the mechanical engineering field, until I retired. I've now been gifted with the time and space to focus on my love for creating art, from sculpting and wood carving, to my current passion of painting with black and white acrylics on canvas. This was inspired by Frank Leonard, a photographer of nudes and landscapes, and the brief experience I had studying with Ansel Adams during the early 1980s. Today, I especially enjoy working on larger canvases, portraying the figure beyond life size. For more information on the works of Bill, visit: http://theartofbillflynn.blogspot.com/
