About Lara Price Blues Revue Pre-Release Party "I Mean Business" featuring Mighty Mike Schermer

Lara Price's 10 PC Blues/Soul band will be playing songs from Lara's new CD "I Mean Business"! Mighty Mike Schermer not only played on the CD, but wrote songs and will be playing with Lara's band. Also Jim Pugh (Robert Cray Band), played on the record, contributed song writing and will be there to support the celebration of the new record! Other special guests include, Laura Chavez (Candye Kane)! This will be an amazing who's who of talent!

"Lara's vocal instrument is strong as it is sensual." Says the San Francisco Chronicle!

Lara Price was born in the war torn country of Vietnam in 1975. Abandoned at birth Lara became a part of the controversial Operation Baby Lift, the mass evacuation of orphans from Southern Vietnam to the United States. Her journey to her new home was nothing short of a miracle, as 90 percent of the orphaned babies did not survive. Lara Price is a survivor-with an indisputable right to sing the blues!

Lara arrived in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1997 to pursue her dream of singing in a band. With a strikingly soulful voice, eclectic tastes, and skills on multiple instruments, Lara applied herself to many musical ventures. She toured across the United States and China, and produced, co-wrote and released 5 genre-spanning CD's, the most recent in 2010.

In the ensuing years Lara immersed herself in the Bay Area music scene, discovered blues/soul icons Ann Pebbles and Candi Staton, and began to find her musical focus. Particularly drawn to songs with a 60's soul blues vibe, especially those with great Pugh (Robert Cray Band), Chris Cain, and fellow VizzTone label-mates Mighty Mike Schermer (Marcia Ball) and Laura Chavez (who plays with Lara frequently when not with Candye Kane), as well as the Sweet Nectar backup singers, and co-wrote collected songs for the new album. Lara went to acclaimed producer Kid Andersen's Greaseland Studio and proceeded to lay down a gorgeous, career-defining album, meaningfully titled "I Mean Business"!
