About Listen in on Sounds in the Sanctuary

What does Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary sound like? Unveiling of a new Sound Exhibit at the Sanctuary Exploration Center

MBNMS and MBARI staff have collaborated to create a unique and interactive experience to listen to sounds recorded in the sanctuary. Researchers at MBARI monitor sounds with an underwater microphone called a hydrophone, and this new exhibit allows visitors to experience sounds from whales, dolphins, and people as well as other natural sounds -- from raindrops to earthquakes, as these soundwaves travel underwater.
