Raised in Washington D.C., Marc Cary has become known as one of the most original pianists in the New York scene. A player of eclectic tastes, Cary has a strong post-bop foundation but has also explored Afro-Cuban rhythms, electronic groove music, and other directions with his various ensembles. Focus Trio, presents Rhodes Ahead, Vol. 2, a brand new release featuring Cary on fender Rhodes, Sameer Gupta on drums and Rashaan Carter on bass. The trio brings a Washington D.C. go-go aesthetic to the stage blending funk, rhythm and blues and early hip-hop.
