About Public Archaeology Day

Public Archaeology Day marks the conclusion of an eight-week UC Santa Cruz Archaeolgocial Field Methods anthropology class that searched for buried resources within Castro Adobe State Historic Park. The public is invited to come learn about the processes and results of the program, a partnership between UCSC, Friends, California State Parks and Albion Environmental, Inc.

UCSC students will be giving tours of the adobe grounds and their excavations, and have interactive exhibits about archaeological methods and the students' findings. There also will be activities for kids of all ages and a talk about careers in science. Tacos by Taquitos Gabriel will be available for purchase.
