Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History Community Forum
About Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History Community Forum
As part of a strategic planning process, the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History will host a Community Forum in the Tony Hill Room at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium, 307 Church St., to hear public input about shaping its future. The forum will be from 6-8 p.m. Jan. 16 with light refreshments served. Founded in 1905 on the collection of lighthouse keeper Laura Hecox, the independent, community-supported nonprofit museum is Santa Cruz’s oldest public museum. Grounded in its mission to connect people with nature and inspire stewardship of the natural world, the museum experienced nearly 20 percent growth in attendance and membership from 2016 to 2017.
