Sempervirens Trad Music Weekend

Join CMS friends and kindred spirits June 16-19, 2016 for a weekend of immersion in traditional music at the lovely Sempervirens Outdoor School, located in Boulder Creek, CA. Classes, sessions, ensembles, an evening talent night, a contra dance, and private lessons are on offer. The deep connections between traditional music, song, and dance are at the heart of our program this weekend, geared for adults who would love to go back to camp for a bit of their summer, or have a band retreat to grow and stretch. Teachers for this event are Mollys Revenge stars David Brewer (winds and percussion), John Weed (fiddle and cello), Stuart Mason (guitar and mandola), Jesse Autumn (harps and keyboards), Shelley Phillips (bamboo flute making, folksinging and choir) Janet Herman (Irish tenor banjo/mandolin and lap dulcimer), Michael King (English country dance), and more! All levels of players are welcome. Beautiful shared cabins, a great music hall with dance floor, great food, a big pool, volleyball, crafts, and hiking are available. The cost for the event is $195 and includes lodging and all meals from Thursday dinner through Sunday lunch.
