About SOLD film
Based on the international bestselling novel by Patricia McCormick, and inspired by true accounts, SOLD tells the story of 13 year-old Lakshmi, who is trafficked from her peaceful, rural village in Nepal to work in a brothel called Happiness House in Kolkata, India. SOLD gives voice to the millions of children around the world who disappear every year. Globally the average age of a trafficked girl is thirteen, the same age as Lakshmi in the film.
