About St. Patty's Bash! Marty O'Reilly & The Old Soul Orchestra + The Sam Chase + Arann Harris & The Farm Band

Save the date and practice your fiddle stompin, knee takin, guiness poundin, and your most sentimental of Irish blessings. This promises to be a good one.

MARTY O'REILLY & THE OLD SOUL ORCHESTRA
This three-man orchestra seamlessly weaves trance based blues music, harkening back to John Lee Hooker and Howlin' Wolf, with a drunken minor swing comparable to some of Tom Waits' darker works. Marty O'Reilly and the Old Soul Orchestra deliver an enthralling and passionate performance, which often leaves them out of breath and the stage littered with broken strings and bow hairs.

Marty O'Reilly began his musical journey as a blues guitar player, exploring the works of Blind Willie Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt, John Lee Hooker, Charlie Patton, and Leadbelly. Through extensive listening and studying of the early delta greats, O'Reilly developed a unique foundation onto which he would incorporate themes from influences in other musical veins such as John Fahey, Nick Drake, John Vandiver, and Tom Waits. Whether it be his original pieces, or his renditions of old American classics O’Reilly tells his story through an old and soulful voice, propelled by a sense of authentic emotional adrenaline.

When performing with his trio, The Old Soul Orchestra, O'Reilly is backed by Jeff Kissell on the Double Bass and Chris Lynch on the fiddle. Their versatile musicianship, and soulful chemistry help to expand O'Reilly's songs into pieces that drive like a ten pound hammer, or float like feather and flow seamlessly in-between. The trio was formed in late 2012, and has rapidly made a name for itself along the west coast of the United States, as well as the United Kingdom, and Ireland. being featured at many notable venues and festivals, including Outside Lands Festival (2014), Rivertown Creedence Clearwater Revival Festival (2013), Do It Ourselves Festival (2014), Cafe Du Nord (SF), Hotel Cafe (LA), and Empty Sea Studios (Seattle). The Band released a self titled live album in 2013 and their debut studio album "Pray For Rain" in Spring of 2014.

ARANN HARRIS AND THE FARM BAND
Arann Harris and The Farm Band brings one part Muppets, one part summer camp and two parts American roots music, served on a bed of bacon grease and git-down. His music is high-energy and highly entertaining. A mix of old time blues, jazz, folk, mountain music, funk and campfire songs unlike any you’ve ever heard.

Born in Oakland, California, Arann was raised on a steady diet of backyard chickens and rabbits with plenty of Run DMC, Too Short and The Beastie Boys.
A country boy a heart, his exuberance, and permanent "outside voice" were not suited for the indoor life of city- living. Arann found the open space of country life perfect for his large frame and big energy. Leaving Oakland to find what was right, Arann traveled the world farming, rafting, skiing and teaching only to settle in his father's home town of rural Petaluma. He settled on his family farm where he raised sheep for wool to sell at local farmer’s markets, spending most of his nights in a converted barn, playing guitar and writing music.

Arann’s distinctive voice comes from playing at countless campfires, hole-in-the-wall bars and coffee houses around the country. The themes of Arann’s lyrics could read like a journal of his travels: farming, animals, food, friends and “dirt-bag, wine-country livin’.” Yet traces of Arann’s urban upbringing can always be found in his music, providing kids raised on hip hop and other modern genres a bridge to the rich history of American folk.

THE SAM CHASE
The Sam Chase has a voice like a Nun on the lam with a mouthful cigarettes and curse words in a lonely bar, drunkenly dancing next to a broken jukebox. His songs are scribbled, not written, on lipstick and sweat stained motel bedsheets because he likes the way the ink bleeds. His guitar runs on diesel and leaks like the morning after too much Whiskey. His is a show you'll probably want to tattoo on your body so everyone will know that you knew him before he was cool.

Hailing from the hills of San Francisco, California, Sam and his band whom he lovingly refers to as The Untraditional, take to stages all over the country with a virulent and frenetic passion which many history buffs might liken to the Norse warriors known as The Berserkers, who were known to have fought their battles with an uncontrollable, trance-like fury. Norse literature notes that they would work themselves into a rage before battle, consuming drugged foods, and dressed in nothing but their enemies blood. The Sam Chase and The Untraditional do maintain that spirit, but leave the drugged foods and enemies blood up to the discretion of the crowd.

In 2012, came the release of his long awaited first studio album, THE SAM CHASE WILL LEAD US TO VICTORY. It took the group all across these United States and back to their home in the Bay Area. The cry came for more, so the band dove head first into writing and preparing a new album. In late May of 2013 THE SAM CHASE WILL NEVER DIE was released. Many children have been conceived to this album since it's release and all of the children who are now born are showing higher than normal levels of intelligence and immunity to most diseases.
