About The Alzheimer's Association presents: Memory Loss - Early Diagnosis is Key

Presented by Dr. Patricia McKeon
For decades the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease was 'by exclusion'. If a patient had memory problems, but a medical workup did not discover an obvious reason, the presumptive diagnosis was Alzheimer's disease. Recent research enables us to diagnose dementia earlier and more accurately. Come learn what is involved in a neuropsychological evaluation, and how to plan when the results are in. "People who seek consultation in early stages, through counseling, problem-solving and family support, have a greater chance of remaining in their home with assistance for a longer period of time." "We can't yet fix it, but we can slow it down."
