About The Choral Project's EARTHSONGS: SONG & DANCE

The Choral Project, (Daniel Hughes, director) the Silicon Valley-based choir, concludes its 22nd season with EARTHSONGS: SONG & DANCE, June 10 (Peace United Church of Christ). The concert, combining music and movement, features musical theatre dancing, swing dancing, and the choir’s choralography in a theatrical concert marrying sight and sound.

The three-concert weekend features music from Broadway shows: Newsies, Once on this Island, West Side Story, and Sister Act, as well as classical favorites about singing and dancing. Classical selections include Rene Clausen’s magnificent “A Jubliant Song,” and the West Coast premiere of Dominick D’Orio’s “Change My Sorrow Into Song,” co-commissioned by The Choral Project. Winners of the Rachel Moore Student Composition Contest will also be announced.
