Since a young child, Wallace Rooney studied with many jazz greats, but Miles Davis was his greatest mentor and influence in perfecting his crafted, hard-bop/post-bop, complicated, improvisational sound. He has played with and is admired by many of our jazz legends. In 1991 Wallace joined what he called the best band in History, VSOP, which included Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Tony Williams and Wayne Shorter.
