About WFF Presents "No More Babies" Film Screening

Watsonville Film Festival presents No más bebés / No More Babies, as part of its monthly Women by Women Film Series.
By turns heartbreaking and empowering, the documentary relates the story of Mexican immigrant mothers who were pushed into sterilizations while giving birth at Los Angeles County Hospital during the 1960s and 70s.
Alongside an intrepid, 26-year-old Chicana lawyer and a whistle-blowing young doctor, the mothers mounted a civil rights lawsuit that is seminal to the movement for reproductive justice in the U.S.
Award-winning Director Reneé Tajima-Peña will host a Q&A following the film.
Thursday, May 10, 7pm at Appleton Grill & Event Lounge, 410 Rodriguez St. Watsonville. In English & Spanish with English subtitles. Tickets at the door: $8/adults, youth under 18 free. No one turned away for lack of funds.
