The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is proud to bring you Free Friday Night Bands on the Beach, with two shows every Friday night on the Boardwalk Bandstand. Each will feature live music from Top 40 bands from the '70s, '80s and early '90s.This week's performance features legendary vocalist Gregg Rolie, the co-founder of Santana and Journey. Gregg's first rose to fame when he lent his vocal talents to such Santana hits as "Black Magic Woman" and " Evil Ways". Rolie joined a new band with ex-Santana guitarist Neal Schon in 1973, which would later become Journey. Gregg Rolie performed keyboards on the group's first six albums before striking out on his own as a solo artist.
