Description
After a moderately successful career with the power pop group the Babies, John Waite embarked on a solo career that began in 1982 with his single, Change, but didn’t take off until 1985, when the song was included on the Vision Quest soundtrack. The pulsating force, blazing keyboard parts, rich vocal harmonies and trace power pop elements of Change epitomized the mainstream pop sound of the decade. Waite would continue to take this sound and churn out several more hits, including When I See You Smile (with Bad English) and Missing You. His recent albums are harder, more blues inspired rockers. He’s even grown his hair out to go with his new sound.
