2012 SCORE SimpleSTEPS Workshops Series
Expert Counselors will coach start-up businesses for success


Santa Cruz County SCORE can greatly improve your business start-up success. A five-part SimpleSTEPS workshop series features these topics: Start-Up Basics; Developing Your Business Idea; Developing Your Marketing Plan; Financial Planning; and Financial Reporting, Funding & Next Steps. Each workshop runs from 6 to 9PM. The 2012 Start-Up Basics workshop are offered 1/11. 2/1, 3/7, 4/4, 5/2, 6/6, 7/11, 9/5 , 10/3, 11/7 and 12/5. Workshops #2-#5 will be offered in February, May and October ..all on Wednesdays.

Featured at the presentations will be local SCORE counselors who have expertise in each of the workshop topics. The series is �relationship oriented� with a blended learning experience to educate and coach the workshop attendees. Participants will complete exercises during the workshops and be assigned homework between sessions. Workshops are $35 each, or a pre-paid price of $120 is available for the last four sessions.

�Start-up issues are some of the most difficult problems that most people face,� says Santa Cruz County SCORE Chapter Chair Allen Carman. �We put together the Quick-START workshops to help answer their questions, so they can determine a �Go� or �No-Go� decision for their business idea,� Allen adds.

Since 1964, SCORE �Counselors to America�s Small Business� has assisted more than 8.5 million aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners through counseling and business workshops. SCORE helps entrepreneurs start almost 20,000 new small businesses each year, and create more than 25,000 new jobs, according to U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) economic impact studies. SCORE provides free business counseling and low cost workshops for new and experienced businesses. Santa Cruz SCORE has more than 20 highly experienced volunteer business counselors to serve Santa Cruz County. Learn from their collective wisdom.
