Foodie File: Rebecca Campbell

Since moving to Santa Cruz in 1982, Rebecca Campbell has been famous for her muffins. After selling them at stores around town, she opened Rebecca’s Mighty Muffins on Front Street in 1986. After opening two more stores, she closed them all in 2006 and walked away from the business for a while. In 2008, she brought her muffins back to farmers’ markets, and this year she opened Rebecca’s at the Tannery.

Tannery One Step Closer to the Dream

Catherine Willis’ eyes light up when she talks about the dance performances she has planned for the June 1 grand opening of the Tannery Arts Center’s Digital Media and Creative Arts Center on River Street. “We’ll have Haitian dance, Mexican folkloric dance, Bollywood dance, contemporary, even tango,” says Willis, the co-founder of the nonprofit Tannery World Dance and Cultural Center and a longtime dance teacher who joined the Tannery in February.
