BERETTA MUSIC
Beretta Music is guided by a simple ideal: Soul Over Hype. Founded by Brian Kage and Ryan Sadorus in 2002,
this Detroit collective is dedicated to the creation of true, progressive sounds that eschew commercial trends or pressures currently ravaging the underground scene.
REFERENCE
Reference consists of the Detroit-based artists Luke Hess & Brian Kage. Like any pure artistic or avant-garde entity, they have no concern for following trends. Hess & Kage have come together to create music in it's truest form;
Experimentation, soul, sweat, live instrumentation, and organic sounds all welded together to form deep and timeless music. The main concern of Reference is to stand diligently behind the foundation of underground culture
and against the commercialism that longs to destroy the freedom of our senses.Reference have been recognized with a slew of soulful EPs released on Carl Carig's legendary
label Planet E and noteworthy headliner appearances at Detroit Electronic Music Festival and Fresh Weekend in Barcelona.
CHRISTINA CHATFIELD
As You Like It resident, Christina Chatfield, better known as one half of techno duo Monocle,is gearing up to take on the world with her solo live performances. Eschewing the traditional DJ set up in favor of analog synthesizers, effects units and hardware drum machines, Chatfield has already released solo works on the Beretta sub-label Beretta Grey, Klectik Records and Racecar Productions.
JOSHUA HARRISON
Joshua Harrison is a live performance artist, dj, and producer.
He currently writes, records and performs for D records and Beretta Music whilst operating his own label, NONCOM, with fellow Beretta family member Keith Kemp and Neovalis.
Joshua is also one half of production team, "Prosthetic Hands", and has worked with several labels including Psycho Thrill Records, Visillusion Records and People Mover Productions.
KEITH KEMP
Detroit native, Keith’s exposure to electronic music via Industrial pioneers Skinny Puppy and Brian Eno sparked an early infatuation with synthesizers and audio software. Inspired by the scene during his school years, Keith spent his time collecting vinyl and selling it at the revered “Dance Room” of Record Time before setting out to make his mark in the heyday of Detroit’s mid-90’s rave scene. Playing across the US, Keith developed into a highly regarded technical
performer, combining his love of house, Industrial and German minimalism with Detroit techno, with highlight performances at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2002 and 2005. Recently, he has cut down on his schedule and returned to his machine in order to develop his own unique style of electronic dance music.
Currently based in Detroit, Keith continues to push his deep house and techno inspired compositions with digital and vinyl releases on Beretta Grey, D Records, Ferrispark and Gravid Digital.
RYAN SADORUS
Ryan Sadorus aka ‘Ryski’ is the co-founder of BerettaMusic and sub label Beretta Grey. His productions range from quirky house numbers to full on techno funk and deep, moody tech house. He has dj’ed in Japan, Guam, Hawaii, and all over the U.S. including an appearance at Tronic Treatment in NYC and Motor Detroit.
