About Through Our Lenses: China and India

“Through Our Lenses: China and India”, Opens August 27th at the Pajaro Valley Gallery in Watsonville. Co-curators Mary Altier and Carol Trengove have chosen fellow photographers Elyse Destout, Shmuel Thaler, Paul Titangos, and Mark Wainer to round out the exhibit with a special selection of color, black and white, digital, and traditional silver gelatin prints.

This unique photographic exhibition offers a broad glimpse into the culture and lives of 1/3 of the world’s population. With a combination of over eighty years of photographing India and China, the artists offer an historical perspective as these two countries rose, from ‘developing world’ to the powerful industrialized nations they are today.

As part of Santa Cruz County Bank’s “Art Collaborative”, the exhibit will also be mounted at all five of the Bank’s branches beginning September 5 and ending January 9, 2015.

PVAC gallery hours are Wednesday through Sunday 11 to 4
