Agents of Change: Leadership in These Uncertain Times
About Agents of Change: Leadership in These Uncertain Times
In a gentle way, you can shake the world.” – Mahatma Gandhi
Are you ready for a bold and compassionate conversation about leadership in today's world?
We invite you to join us at 1440 on Nov. 13th for a conversation with Ela Gandhi*, granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi, Jim Wallis of Sojourners, and renowned author and teacher Yogacharya Ellen Grace O’Brian exploring how alliances of all faiths can inspire action, help build community, and cultivate compassion even when times feel their most dark and uncertain. This event will be moderated by Suzanne St. John-Crane, CEO of the American Leadership Forum.
What does it mean to live spiritually amidst the tough questions facing our society today?
What is needed in our global leadership at this very moment?
And what can you do to contribute your unique gifts to the conversation?
We hope you'll join us for what promises to be an inspiring and thoughtful evening with these thought leaders on the 1440 stage.
Ela Gandhi is a peace activist, the granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi, and the Co-President of the World Conference on Religions for Peace. She was a Member of Parliament in South Africa from 1994 to 2004, where she aligned with the African National Congress (ANC) party.
Jim Wallis is a New York Times best-selling author, public theologian, speaker, and international commentator on ethics and public life. He served on President Obama's White House Advisory Council on Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships and currently serves on the Global Agenda Council on Values of the World Economic Forum.
Yogacharya Ellen Grace O'Brian is an acclaimed teacher, author, and minister. She is the founder and spiritual director of the Center for Spiritual Enlightenment in San Jose, CA.
This event will be moderated by Suzanne St. John-Crane, CEO of the American Leadership Forum. Santa Clara County Board Supervisor Dave Cortese, American Leadership Forum of Silicon Valley and Carry the Vision are proud to present this event in conjunction with 1440 Multiversity.
Your event ticket includes a healthy, locally-sourced dinner at 1440's Kitchen Table, where you’ll find a variety of options to meet your dietary needs. Relax and enjoy your meal by our cozy fireplace, or dine al fresco on the patio beneath the canopy of redwoods.
