Do you enjoy nature and being outdoors? Do you feel a strong sense of giving to the community, promoting conservation and stewardship, and sharing knowledge with others? Perhaps you could be interested in becoming a volunteer at Año Nuevo State Park and help connecting park visitors to the amazing natural and cultural resources of the park!
Being a docent at Año Nuevo is an extraordinary experience in a remarkable natural setting. Docents are trained to interpret the natural and cultural history of the Park and lead the guided walks to the elephant seals rookery during the seals’ winter breeding season. Docents also act as roving naturalists during other seasons, and in general contribute to the inspiration, education and enjoyment of Park visitors.
