Bachvinsky - Season opening Espressivo Orchestra concert

Espressivo, a small intense orchestra invites you to the first concert of its Fourth Season. With the leading professional instrumentalists in Santa Cruz at its core, Espressivo presents select masterpieces of classical music composed for 14- 26 players. This concert is on September 16 at 3 o’clock at Peace United Church, 900 High Street, Santa Cruz. Johann Sebastian Bach will be juxtaposed with Igor Stravinsky, notably under his influence. The concert features two favorites by the greatest composer of all time, Johan Sebastian Bach. "Brandenburg Concerto Nr. 3" and "Suite Nr. 2" featuring Lars Johanneson on flute. These pieces are followed by a giant of the past century, Igor Stravinsky. The Stravinsky pieces are: "Dumbarton Oaks Concerto" and "Concerto in D."
The orchestra will be conducted by its founding Artistic Director, Michel Singher.
