About Become a Hospice Volunteer Visitor

Volunteer Visitors offer support to people receiving hospice care. They may simply extend a hand to hold or help with running errands, light meal preparation, light touch massage, and other tasks. They often give caregivers and family members a needed break. The public is invited to stop by anytime during the hours listed.

This is a great way to support community members facing end of life and be part of the Hospice of Santa Cruz County vision that everyone deserves to live and die with dignity.

Volunteer Visitors are provided a 30 hour training and ongoing support as they meet with patients on hospice care. Art therapists, music-oriented, bi-lingual, massage therapists, and veterans wanting to serve other military veterans are especially needed.

Applications are due August 15. Training begins August 31, 2016.
