About Byron Westbrook + SCY1E

Byron Westbrook will present a performance of recent electronic sound compositions in a customized multi-channel audio format, featuring artificial field recordings, experiments with phase relationships, synthesized ASMR and vague rhythm. The works focus on perception of presence; exploring a dynamic between sounds intended to highlight the listening space versus sounds that represent or fabricate external, imaginary spaces.

Scy1e (‘Sighwonee”) is a new direction for Raub Roy, formerly known as Horaflora. Electronic in nature, the character of Scy1e is more supple, more simpatico, than that of Horaflora. This music deals in interrelated cycles, or Relabi; "the self-erasing pulse". Field recordings mingle with limping, stately, rhythms, together forming a rich community of sound.
