Chihuahua Pride Day 2016- California Dreamin'

Chihuahuas and their people will be gathering again for the 6th annual Chihuahua Pride Day to celebrate the breed, raise awareness of the Chihuahua overpopulation crisis in our shelters, and raise money for The Lucky Fund (administered through AFRP in Monterey County) and Friends of Alice & Emmy (administered through Santa Cruz County Animal Services in Santa Cruz County) - spay/neuter voucher funds for local Chihuahua and chi-mix guardians who need a little help in getting their dogs spayed or neutered. Nationally, Chihuahuas and chi-mixes are the second most-euthanized breed in our shelters and they represent up to 1/3 of the dogs in our local shelters on any given day. We are asking our community to support us in our efforts to change this sad statistic by coming out to Chihuahua Pride Day 2016 - California Dreamin'!

The free admission event includes a huge silent auction, raffle, costume contest, professional pet photography, pet groomer, dog agility demonstration, adoptable dogs from local shelters and rescue groups, and much more still being added! Bring your spare change to donate to Change 4 Chihuahuas. Friendly dogs under 25 pounds (on-leash) are welcome.

Over the last five years of annual events, Chihuahua Pride Day has raised enough money to fund over 430 spay/neuter vouchers.
