The Democratic Women’s Club (DWC) of Santa Cruz County’s next public education forum is on the upcoming Recall of Governor Newsom. Topics include how recalls work, how they get on the ballot, and who is sponsoring the current effort to unseat Governor Newsom, as well as the cost to taxpayers.
Speakers include: Tricia Webber, Santa Cruz County Elections Clerk, who will provide background information on the history of recalls and how they work in CA, and an update on date (if known) on the election to recall the Governor, and how the election will be conducted in Santa Cruz County.
Garry South, described by the LA Times as “California’s political chess master” and the “Carville of California” by the New York Times, is the main speaker. He has more than 40 years’ experience at very high levels in government, politics and business consulting, and has worked for the federal government and three state governments, including as Special Assistant to a U.S. Cabinet Secretary, Senior Political Advisor to a Governor, Communications Director to another Governor, Chief of Staff to a Lieutenant Governor and Public Information Director of a State Legislature.
A Q&A session follows the speakers. All are welcome to attend; recordings of DWC forums are posted on the DWC website (https://www.dwcscc.org) a week after the event.
