Family Nature Walk and Book Signing at the UC Santa Cruz Arboretum

The entire family will enjoy a fun and free nature walk and book signing featuring 15 year old Santa Cruz author, Kelly McCandless, as she walks the trail loops highlighted in her recent book, The Budding Naturalist’s Guide to the UC Santa Cruz Arboretum. Kelly will be joined by Todd Newberry, renowned Santa Cruz birder, who worked with her on the project, to teach some of the basic skills of becoming a “nature detective” covered in the book. During this time activities such as learning how to sit spot and track, along with other nature skills and games will be available for youngsters.
