For the Love of the Earth
About For the Love of the Earth
The UCSC Women's Club speaker program presents Beth Stephens, Ph.D., filmmaker, performance artist, sculptor, activist and educator for three decades. Stephens is the Founding Director of E.A.R.T.H. Lab at UC Santa Cruz where she is also the Art Department Chair and Professor of Art. Over the last six years, she has produced two new feature documentary films and has shown many video installations in galleries and museums around the world. This artist lecture will explore her strategies for injecting hope into the discourse and practice of environmentalism by making it more sexy, fun, and diverse.
