For over two hundred years, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein has haunted our days and chilled our dreaming nights. Celebrate and explore the enduring legacy of the world’s first science-fiction horror story with FRANKENCON, a three-day conference of scientists, theorists, authors, and artists at UC Santa Cruz. The conference is in conjunction with the Theater Arts Department production of The Frankenstein Project, written and directed by Kirsten Brandt.
Thurs, Nov. 21: double film feature at DNA's Comedy Lab, downtown Santa Cruz - Frankenstein and The Bride of Frankenstein, with Q&A after, $10
Fri, Nov. 22: starts at 3pm, roundtable discussion: The Legacy of Frankenstein, followed by seeing the play The Frankenstein Project (discussion is free; tickets for play at UCSCtickets.com)
Sat, Nov. 23: full day conference, 10-5:30pm, free and open to the public, including dessert reception at 5pm.
