Give Back Speaker Series: Save Our Shores

The "Give Back Speaker Series" is moving forward with a presentation from "Save Our Shores."

Save Our Shores is a nonprofit marine conservation organization in Santa Cruz, California. Our mission is caring for the marine environment through ocean awareness, advocacy, and citizen action.

We believe that here at Garfield Park Community we should not be a place, a building, a service, or a gathering, but rather a movement of wholeness in a fragmented world. We desperately want to invite people of all faiths, or no faith at all to join us in our mission in making a positive impact in this place we call home. That is why we are changing how we gather. Starting Oct 16th we will use our Sunday Morning Services twice a month, to highlight community service organizations, organizations for social/racial justice and service efforts. These groups will share what they do in the community and we will also donate most of our tithes to help raise funds for their efforts (unless designated otherwise), and try to generate volunteers as well.
