Panelists represent a broad range of organizations: Crowley Maritime Corporation; Moss Landing Marine Labs; Monterey Bay Seaweeds; Nature Conservancy; Advanced Structures and Composites Center at the University of Maine; Port of San Diego. What is the “Blue Economy”?

The “Blue Economy” comprises the economic activities that create sustainable wealth and long-term human well-being from the world’s oceans, coasts, rivers and the Great Lakes. The concept is based on the interconnection of all natural systems, and examines ways that ocean and coastal resources can support regenerative economic cycles while simultaneously enhancing healthy, bio-diverse, and resilient oceans, coastlines, and shorelines.
