Idea Fab Labs - Intro to Soldering

Looking to create hand-made jewelry for yourself or someone special? Come learn to create beautiful jewelry by soldering metal wire together to make rings, earrings, and bracelets of your very own.

Class Description:

Learn to use basic jewelry tools, how to work with non-ferrous metals, how to solder metal wire together, and how to form and finish your own rings, earrings, and bracelets. You will have at least one completed project, and a tool of your very own, by the end of class. No experience necessary. Come and have fun with us!

What to Bring:

Please wear an apron or clothing that you do not care about and closed toe shoes.

Materials Required:

Materials will be available for purchase at Idea Fab Labs Santa Cruz. The supplies cost is $35 and includes: flux & medium solder, 3 different gauges of copper wire, 3 different grits of sandpaper, and a jeweler's saw frame with saw blades.

Prerequisites:

16 years of age and over please.
