Interactive Video and Projection Mapping
About Interactive Video and Projection Mapping
Join UCSC Art Department Lecturer Tra Bouscaren to learn how to mashup and projection-map live video. We will explore a robust landscape of interactive sound and video manipulation possibilities for mixing and projection-mapping multiple video feeds in real time.
Class Description:
Designed for theatre groups, dance troupes, VJ’s, installation artists, and the simply curious, our workshops will be rooted in a visual programming environment called Isadora.
This will be three individual hour classes held on the same night.
Skills Covered:
6 pm Interactive Video-Mapping – How to animate your projection-mapped scenes with various live inputs.
7 pm Sound to Video Interaction – How to change specific video effects using specific sound frequencies and/or volume controls.
8 pm Wireless Live Feeds and Infrared Motion-Tracking- How to pull in a live video feed from your cell phone and mash it up with other video feeds in real time, and how to use a Kinect and processing to track humans in the dark.
As per class interest and experience, it is possible to branch out from there into MIDI, Processing, Arduino, OSC, and DMX controls.
