About Live Oak History Walk

Distinguished Historian Norman Poitevin and Live Oak Neighbors will present a Live Oak history walk on Tuesday, August 6. The walk will highlight the history of Live Oak places not covered in past walks and places that are not easily accessible, including the Skyview Drive-In, the Antonelli Family Begonia Gardens, Live Oak Plaza, Live Oak's Mobile Home Parks, the Live Oak Grange, the Old Cork Oak, and the county's first Farm Advisor, Henry Washburn.

The walk begins at 6pm at the entrance to Schwan Lake Park next to the Simpkins Family Swim Center back parking lot. The Park will serve as the venue for the walk, which will go until about 7:15pm.

The event is free, and Poitevin's local history book, Historic Live Oak, will be available for purchase. All Live Oak History Walk brochures are available free at the Live Oak Library.
