Loma Prieta Earthquake: 30 Years of Recovery Hike

Where were you on October 17, 1989? Observe the 30th anniversary of the 6.9 magnitude Loma Prieta earthquake by hiking to its epicenter near the ghost town Loma Prieta in the Forest of Nisene Marks. Share your memories of that day or hear others’ stories while learning about the forest’s recovery and resilience since the quake. Bring water, snacks, and sturdy shoes.
