About Ocean Climate Action (Virtual) Capitol Hill Lobby Day April 14

All hands on deck! The Climate Crisis is an Ocean Crisis, and oceans, coastlines, rivers, and the Great Lakes must not be overlooked in solutions. Ocean advocates and anyone concerned about climate change is invited to join the Ocean Climate Action (Virtual) Capitol Hill Lobby Day on Wednesday, April 14th, 2021. The event is co-organized by the Center for the Blue Economy at the Middlebury Inst. of Intl. Studies and Blue Frontier. We will meet (via Zoom) in state, district, and territory delegations with U.S. Congress Members to advocate for ocean-based solutions to the climate crisis including: a “Climate Corps” to employ thousands of Americans in restoring wetlands, dunes, and natural buffers that protect against storm surge and sea level rise; renewable ocean energy including offshore wind, wave and tidal energy; and common-sense climate policy to move post-disaster funding toward pre-disaster preparedness. Join the wave for life-saving, job-creating, and equitable solutions to the climate crisis! To see a preliminary schedule, sign up, and learn more, visit: http://www.OceanClimateAction2021.org or contact: Ms. Lauren Townsend at [email protected] or call (831) 647-4183 (pls. leave message).
