Rocks & Salt is an Oakland based roots duo birthed out of whiskey soaked hardships and an unadulterated love for the mysticism that pulses through the American music lexicon. A tumbleweed of sound that can’t help itself from blowing through the cold hard plains of broken hearts, empty bottles and the seamlessly unending abyss of self exploration.

The focal point of R&S, Jared Griffin (guitar, vox) and Nicole Ridgwell (fiddle, vox) have played together in bands before, most recently Sioux City Kid and Grandville. Their separate projects spread out across the country from LA to Nashville to Louisiana. They both recently found themselves back in the Bay Area and have joined forces once again combining their love for old school blues, country, gospel and americana. They’ve hit the ground running writing a plethora of heartfelt songs that take an introspective look into dealing with your own struggles all the while having to be brave and accountable in the face of our current tumultuous social climate.
