About Science Sunday: Sustainability in a High C02 Ocean

SCIENCE SUNDAY: WHAT LIES AHEAD?
Sustainability in a High C02 Ocean.

Kristy J. Kroeker, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology
University of California, Santa Cruz
Rising CO2 in the atmosphere is causing unprecedented changes in seawater chemistry. Scientists worldwide are working to predict what these changes (ocean acidification) will mean for marine life in the future, as well as what can be done about this global process.
Join Kristy Kroeker on a virtual tour of her natural laboratories that span underwater volcanic CO2 vents and the California coastline. Kroeker will explain how these habitats can provide clues about ocean acidification, how it can affect our vital ecosystems, and what we can do to protect them.
