Join the Dante Alighieri Society and the Santa Cruz Film Festival at 7pm on October 7th, in the Colligan Teater of the Tannery Art Center, 1001 River Street, Santa Cruz, for the closing film of the 2018 Santa Cruz Film Festival. The film is “La vita in commune” (The Ark of the Desperata), a story of two brothers whose dream of becoming Mafia bosses is displaced by discovering poetry while serving time in prison. A sweet and funny film in which the director, Winspeare, cast his Pugliese friends and neighbors as actors for an authentic and genuine feel. (Film length: 110 minutes; in Italian with English subtitles.)
Before the film, Dante Society Members and their guests are invited to attend a reception at 5:30 at the Radius Gallery. Dante Members area also invited to closing reception party at the Hotel Paradox after the film. Tickets: $5.00 per person for Dante Members (Dante Family memberships get 2 tix for $5 each); $10 for Dante Guests, and others.
