O SOLE TRIO

From Pavarotti to Pop
You do not have to fly to New York, Los Angeles or even drive to San Francisco to see a world-class show. CSUMB’s World Theater is bringing the show to you, Saturday, April 15th at 8:00 P.M. O Sole Trio, "A true tour de force" takes the audience on a musical journey, revealing how Italian Americans influenced the American pop music scene throughout the decades. From humorous storytelling to their innovative and unique arrangements, this trio performs songs made famous by such legendary singers as Enrico Caruso, Louis Prima, Frank Sinatra, Connie Francis and Andrea Bocelli. Their show is “fast-paced, funny and touching, with two stellar voices and commanding accompaniment.” They sold-out their Carnegie Hall début, had a standing room only engagement at Lincoln Center's David Rubenstein Atrium and recently completed a 21 performance Midwest tour garnering rave reviews.

UK born violinist, pianist, composer and arranger David Alexander Shenton is one of the most versatile and in demand musicians in the world today. He composed over 200 works including 5 musicals. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater, classical at Lincoln Center's Rubenstein Atrium and many of the classical and jazz venues in NYC.

Erin’s Shields vocal versatility has allowed her to perform a number of different genres all over the country, including leading roles for many reputable music festivals, opera companies and orchestras, most notably several performances at Lincoln Center with the New York Philharmonic and The American Orchestra.

Giuseppe Spoletini, the Canadian baritone has performed with The Opera Theater of Saint Louis, The Opera Company of Brooklyn, Saskatoon Opera Association, The Cincinnati Opera, Chelsea Opera of NYC and Opera Company of the Highlands. Giuseppe vacillates between numerous musical worlds with stunning dexterity. He warmly wraps his rich and sumptuous voice around a harp-based arrangement of “Ave Maria” yet brings Mahalia Jackson’s “Trouble of the World” to a feverish pitch with equal ease.
The talent and performance of O Sole Trio is unique and exhilarating. They will make you laugh and bring tears to your eyes. This is sure to be a performance you will truly enjoy and remember. To purchase tickets, or for information, call 831 582-4580 or online at https://csumb.edu/worldtheater.
