Learn how to grow vegetables, herbs and flowers in a bale of straw from UC Mas-ter Gardener Paul Fisler. Straw bale gardening is like container gardening; a quick way to create a productive raised garden bed that works very well for most vegetables, herbs and flowers. Hugelkulture? Hugelkulture is the practice of burying wood and other biodegradable materials. The heat and moisture provid-ed by the decomposing materials helps to increase plant production.
