Reception for ultraSHIFT: UCSC's Digital Arts and New Media MFA Exhibition, on view April 27-30, 2017. Seven artists are creating and iterating within realms not easily decipherable and detected in the conventional art world. Each artist has worked in the critical spaces of game design, musical soundscapes, performative sculpture, or interactive media to resist and expand long-established, canonical meanings of art.
