Wolf Jett + Alison Steele + Joe MacKessy

After leaving his home of San Francisco to travel and busk for a year through Spain and Portugal by bicycle, Chris Jones (leader of long-time SF band Scary Little Friends) moves to NYC and starts a bi-coastal project that infuses folk, soul, and blues into the sound of Cosmic Street Gospel. Jon Payne (Elliot Peck, The Painted Horses), Jeff Kissell (Marty O’Reilly and the OSO), and Will Forte (the Naked Bootleggers) round out the lineup for the band.
Opening the night is Alison Steele (Sugar by the Pound) sharing a few of her new solo tunes and pickin' her banjo.
Sugar by the Pound came together in the Spring of 2014 in The Santa Cruz Mountains of California and is one of the only all-female bluegrass bands, not only in the area, but for miles around. Their combination of traditional bluegrass music, country-style blues, honky tonk, and classical influences hits home with a wide audience and has made the group a perfect fit for playing festivals, markets, churches, barn dances, farm tours, clubs, breweries, and and private parties throughout California and beyond.. The players are classically trained musicians as well as campfire poets prior to forming the band.
