Giveaways

Enter to win four tickets ($100 value) to Mighty Mike Schermer Band at Kuumbwa on Thursday, April 4. Doors and dinner beginning at 6 p.m. This show will begin at 7 p.m.

When Willie Dixon, Bonnie Raitt and Elvin Bishop all sing your praises as a blues guitarist, you know you’re on to something. A longtime fixture on the Bay Area blues scene, Mighty Mike Schermer has since expanded the reach of his fretboard and amps to stages across the globe and extensive work with modern-day blues legend Marcia Ball. Deemed a “funky and authentic” player by Raitt, Schermer’s life course was set after a 1984 Albert Collins concert, and he’s been devoted to the blues ever since. Collin’s encouragement for the young guitarist to study T-Bone Walker ensured that some Texas shuffle found its way into Schermer’s sound. With Mighty Mike, the blues is in expertly capable hands and on this concert date the Mighty Mike Schermer Band will celebrate the release of Schermer’s new album. Bad Tattoo. Schermer’s band on this concert date features Tony Stead on keyboards, Steve Ehrmann on bass, Paul Revelii on drums and special guests Kid Andersen and Lisa Lueschner Andersen. Bad Tattoo showcases Schermer’s intelligent, often humorous songwriting, searing-yet-understated guitar playing, and mastery of nearly every sub-genre of American roots music.
