Vive Oaxaca Guelaguetza

Spend the day in Oaxaca! Senderos invites you to the Vive Oaxaca Guelaguetza, Sunday, May 20 at our NEW location in San Lorenzo Park near downtown Santa Cruz from 9am-5pm - an authentic food, music, dance, crafts cultural festival like those held annually in Oaxaca, Mexico. Featuring delicious Oaxacan food and beverages - mole, tlayudas, tejate and more. Colorful folkloric dancing by Centeotl Danza y Baile who will be accompanied by 25 visiting student musicians from CIS No 8 (Centro de Integración Social), Zoogocho, Oaxaca, renowned for their traditional Banda de Viento music. Bring a blanket, lawn chairs to enjoy this 13th annual festival. Over 3,700 people attended last year! $10 general admission at the entrance, free for children 5 and under. This event benefits Senderos, an all-volunteer nonprofit in Santa Cruz providing free dance and music classes, tutoring and scholarships for Latino youth.
